The content of your blog is an important factor in
gaining traffic and acquiring a target audience.
Publishing your first article or item is a great
milestone in your blogging career. Fortunately, there
are several basic guidelines, which can make your
content more effective to your audience, adored by the
search engines and respected by the world of blogging.
Publishing an Effective Content
Before you begin to write anything on your blog, you
should know who your target audience is and what they
want. If you see these factors as irrelevant for your
blog because your blog is not business oriented in any
way, you must remember that if you want readers then
these factors are really relevant.
Always remember that where there are readers there is
something interesting to read. The only reason why
people read is because they want something. If you
really want to achieve some kind of massive
readership, you must strive to make your content
interesting and actually what readers want.
First of all, keep in mind that communication is the
key. More so, your communication must be authentic.
The time when you publish your content is also the
time when you let your true self surface. Blogs are
personal in nature and communication is the key to
being personal. The fact that each blog is unique
because each writer is unique is enough for you to not
to worry about future similarities with other blog
entries. Keep in mind that whatever topic you are
blogging about you must incorporate your personality
with your writing.
In order to create a loyal target audience, it is
important for the visitors to trust you and relate to
you. It does not necessarily entail that they know
about your personal details but you must connect with
your audience in an authentic manner.
After establishing your communication with your
audience, the content must also be credible. The blog
must have authenticity even though credibility takes a
lot of time to build.
The moment you begin publishing your content, which is
of high value and useful to the readers, you also
start establishing your authority. There will come a
time when your readers ask you for advice or seek for
your opinion; this is the time when you have achieved
some kind of credibility and you must use this to
build your reputation as a blogger.
The Blogger’s Block
Blogging is writing but uses a different medium. There
are several methods to fight blogger’s block. Always
remember that your blog software exists to serve you
and not to frighten you. You do not have to try
blogging carrying the idea that you have prolific
writing skills, or a journalism degree. The fact is
that you have something to say and you want others to
hear it. However, if you are feeling stuck on an idea,
there are several suggestions that you can apply when
creating the content for your blog.
Firstly, you can try visiting other blogs. Visit those
blogs that interest you and pick ideas and topics from
those blogs that might be worth blogging about but
keep in mind the relevance of the topic and your
readership. You can also syndicate your news updates.
You can do this by subscribing to news services online
because they allow you to save time on searching using
keywords. This is most useful for bloggers.

I’ve got a Cincinnati home security system at my house and the kids keep setting it off. I don’t think they’re trying to sneak out because they’re only 8 and 10 but I put them down to bed and not 2 hours later they’re up at one of the doors or windows trying to get it open! I don’t know what’s gotten into them and I’ve been trying to work with my husband to get it all under control but you know, I guess it’s not the worst thing to deal with this now rather than when they’re 16. If they had boyfriends or something I would be worried but I think they’re just being kids and getting into mischief like kids tend to do and it’s really hard to get mad at them for that, you know what I mean? I love my children but sometimes they push my buttons too far when I’m at home – guess that’s what I get for being a stay at home mom!

When we moved I made sure going to http://www.direc4u.com/ was on my priority list because I didn’t want to miss a minute of my favorite shows. I know it sounds crazy but I just LIVE for that show about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and I think it’s because I was on the squad 18 years ago and it’s fun living vicariously through all these young, nubile 20 year olds. I don’t know how they do some of the things they do and you know, when I was dancing for the team it seemed like our uniforms were a LITTLE bit less scandalous but I guess times change and I shouldn’t be so quick to judge. I can’t imagine anything more fun than being out on that field with thousands of eyes on you and man, that HD jumbotron, I don’t know how the girls sleep at night knowing that thing is broadcasting their every pore to the whole stadium! I guess it’s all part of the gig and you’ve got to have confidence to make it.

Shoe Tassels

I was on the phone with Security choice the other day, trying to find out about home security systems when I saw my dog out of the corner of my eye. He is usually really good and does not chew things up. Lately, because I have been working more, he has been a little worse than he usually is. He has been stealing socks and collecting them in his dog house. It does not make me happy, but the sock stealing is not causing me too much money or aggravation. After all, he eats less socks than my washing machine does! I nearly dropped the phone when I saw him with my husband’s favorite pair of loafers that he wears with his suit. My dog had completely chewed the tassel off one of the shoes. I started chasing him around the house and he still would not give up the shoe. I picked up the tassel right before I caught him and took the shoe. I was surprised to see that the only thing that was torn off was the tassel. Luckily, I ran them to the shoe repair store and they had an extra tassel lying around!

There are so many different options available from the small netbooks to the powerful MAC and Alienware laptops. If you want a really nice laptop for an affordible price then you might end up with an asus laptop.
Whatever direction you decide to go, it's pretty much essential to own some kind of laptop now-a-days. Heck, I'm even typing this blog on a laptop! You can connect to the internet wirelessly from wifi from a lot of places. You can even do like I'm doing and use your smartphone as a wifi hotspot and connect to the internet through your phone!

6 Reasons why Wordpress should be your blogging platform of choice

I admit it. I'm a Wordpress addict. It started off a simple blogging platform but was extended to become much more than that. I utilized wordpress.org so I can install it on my own server and use it for my own unique domain name.
There are several reasons why I love wordpress:
1) The installation process is seriously simple. They say it takes 5 minutes from start to finish, and I would argue that it is probably 2 minutes.
2) The wonderful amount of wordpress plugins. The plugin ecosystem is similar to the iPhone development ecosystem except there are no approvals needed form wordpress. Anything you ever imagined doing on a blog is done for you once you install the plugin
3) It's stable. I almost never have any issues with it.
4) The dashboard is easy to use. Although i'm a tech junkie, I have found that other newbies can pick the interface up really quick
5) It's search engine friendly. Friendly is probably a loose term to use. It's search engine's best friend. Through the use of plugins SEO / SEM is mind numbingly easy! It helps you to make money online.
6) Themes - You can download themes directly from wordpress or do a simple google search and you will find beautiful themes that are free to download and some premium theme's that you have to pay for.
